• Introduction

Hope for children in Adversity (HCA) is a non-governmental organization fully registered in Tanzania since 2014. HCA has 6 committed and hardworking staff, 6 volunteers and an over searing board of 8 members. HCA exists to prevent Tanzanian children from growing vulnerable, empty and alone. We are currently providing, food, health, education and psycho-social support to 120 children from poor households in Tanzania. We are also enabling children from poor households, acquire quality education which provides everlasting impact on the target children. We have established a pre & primary school which is providing quality education to children whose parents cannot afford.

  • Problem Statement

The school is located in a remote village- in a community dominated with poverty and more than 69% of the population live below the poverty line. Around 95% of the children in the area do not have full access to quality education. Most parents cannot afford to take their children to schools to acquire quality education.  Nevertheless parents are severely affected by poverty which causes difficulties in meeting their children’s basic needs including, paying for their children’s school fees, buying books and school uniforms among other needs.

HCA provides support of school fees, nutritious food, uniforms, books, shoes, nutritious porridge and health support to children who attend our schools. The major challenge that we face is to get professional and highly qualified teachers who are willing to stay in a remote area. Thus are request is being made to be able to acquire and maintain highly qualified teachers to be able to provide quality education to the underprivileged children. As well as support on reliable transport for carrying children from their houses to school since there is a distance and not safe for little children to walk through bushes alone.

  • Project Goals and Objectives

The project Goals and objectives include the following

  1. Provide early childhood education support to  80 children through our pre & primary school in Buma, Bagamoyo
  2. Acquire highly qualified professional teachers and provide quality education   to underprivileged children.
  3. Provide food, education materials, moral, hygienic and motivation support to 80 underprivileged children.
  4. Provide and maintain reliable transport for carrying children to and from the school.

  • Project Implementation

The project will involve screening and selection of qualified teachers who will be committed and responsible in providing quality education to the children. The project will also ensure that there is reliable transport for the children to and from the school.

  • Project Monitoring and Evaluation

The most critical thing for the project success is having mutual understanding between  the target children, their parents/guardians, teachers, HCA staff and the community at large. Readness and willingness of the parents/gurdians and children to value education- support and fully participate by understanding  that children are receiving  life long benefits  is very important. Education is key for life success therefore HCA will monitor project activities very closely anticipating that program activities are bringing everlasting benefits to the target children changing their lives fulfilling their diseres and aspirations for a better future . HCA will  closely monitor and evaluate program activities and provide timely reports to Seeds Of Love Worldwide.  Touchy stories and pictures will be shared to Seeds Of Love Worldwide accordingly.
